An event promoting the campaign entitled "Safety is never on vacation” was held on Thursday, November 12th at the exhibition and sales room of the Kompresor car company. Retail chain Aksa, specializing in baby and child products, with the support of Kompresor car company, launched this campaign with an aim to raise awareness among parents of the importance of driving safely and the use of car seats to protect the youngest passengers in motor vehicles.
The face of the campaign, Dušan Borković, attended the event as a special guest. Dušan Borković is Serbia’s top-ranked professional race car driver, who has recently claimed the title of European champion, by winning the European Touring Car Cup.
Ivana Mihajlović, an advisor for child car seats, spoke about the percentage of parents in Serbia who use child car seats, how many of these seats are fitted correctly in the vehicle, and the biggest problems relating to their use. Ivana also demonstrated the correct procedure of fitting a car seat in a vehicle.
The event and the campaign in general were supported with their presence by officials of the Road Traffic Safety Agency, as well as the representatives of the Road Traffic Safety Center and the Road Traffic Safety Coordination Body of Novi Sad. The event was attended by a large number of journalists, who have provided media support for the campaign from the very beginning.
All guests had an opportunity to try out a racing simulator, used by the professional race car driver Dušan Borković when preparing for a race.
